About this class

Arrive plain, leave fluorescent. Once a month we take our Wednesday class into the dark — UV lighting, face paint, glow sticks, and “main character” lighting for everyone. Wear white, bright, or neon and watch yourself light up. Or show up in black and be mysterious. We don't judge.

We provide UV face paint and glow sticks — come 30 minutes early for the full glow-up. Our face paints are water-based and easy to remove. 60 minutes of Latin rhythms, pop, and throwback bangers with a healthy dose of queer joy. Sparkles optional, good vibes strongly recommended.

A big group glows in deep blue UV light, wearing bright glow-stick necklaces and streaks of neon face paint
Once a month we kill the lights — UV, glow sticks, face paint, full glow.

UV lighting note

This is a lower-light session with UV lighting. If you're sensitive to flashing or intense lighting, experience migraines, or have a history of seizures, please check with your GP before attending.

East Sydney Community and Arts Centre, on the corner of Burton St and Palmer St — just behind Oxford Street.
Curved glass entrance doors with the street number 34–40 beside them, on a brick footpath
The glass entrance on Burton St — come through and head upstairs (it's darker than usual up there, watch your step).

Getting There

The venue is just behind Oxford Street on the corner of Burton St and Palmer St. A few minutes' walk from buses running along Oxford Street (routes 311, 333, 352, 373, 396, 440). If you're driving, street parking in Darlinghurst is possible but can be limited or time-restricted. Give yourself a little extra time to find a spot.

Arrival & Glow-Up

We usually arrive around 30 minutes before class to set up the UV lights and painting station. Come early if you want the full glow-up — we'll have face paint and accessories ready. Look for a cheerful group outside the building, or upstairs if you hear happy chaos.

Running late?

No stress. Come through the glass door and slip in — it's darker than usual, so watch your step.

  • A small towel (optional, but you'll thank us later)
